Enjoying the Library and having a camp fire!

The children visit the Library every Thursday afternoon so please ensure that they return their library book  for this. It is a  nice chance for the children to choose a different book to take home to read.





During our welly walk this week we lit a fire using a flint and steel and sung some  camp fire songs together.

All Around the World - Handa's Surprise

What a fantastic start to our new topic, 'All Around the World'.  The children have enjoyed sharing the story of Handa's Surprise, tasting different fruits featured in the story and locating their origin on the globe. We were lucky enough to have a visit from Kwame who shared music and art from his home country of Ghana.  The children throughly enjoyed his music and were inspired to have a go back in the classroom. "The man was banging a drum very loud." Dylan 'Its a long way away and you have to go on a plane.  He lives in a village." Enes "The music was lovely." Nayana The children continued with African  drumming in their music sessions this week. The children experimented cut up fruits and paint to make printed pictures... They have enjoyed using the travelling machine in the classroom I wonder where it will take us next week?
