Space

This week the children have been reading "Whatever Next" by Jill Murphy. They have enjoyed pretending to go to the moon in our class spaceship! They have also been choosing what picnic they would take with them.




The children have now learnt all their phase 2 sounds and are using these now to blend together to make simple words.

All Around the World - Handa's Surprise

What a fantastic start to our new topic, 'All Around the World'.  The children have enjoyed sharing the story of Handa's Surprise, tasting different fruits featured in the story and locating their origin on the globe. We were lucky enough to have a visit from Kwame who shared music and art from his home country of Ghana.  The children throughly enjoyed his music and were inspired to have a go back in the classroom. "The man was banging a drum very loud." Dylan 'Its a long way away and you have to go on a plane.  He lives in a village." Enes "The music was lovely." Nayana The children continued with African  drumming in their music sessions this week. The children experimented cut up fruits and paint to make printed pictures... They have enjoyed using the travelling machine in the classroom I wonder where it will take us next week?
