Willows and Hazels enjoyed making bread this morning as part of our Harvest topic.

Diwali
The children are learning about Diwali, the festival.of light and how Hindus celebrate it. They have enjoyed the story about Rama and Sita - how good and truth wins over evil. We have looked at all the beautiful clothes and decorations. In addition the children enjoyed making lots of rangoli patterns using rice, seeds, and glitter. We also made and ate some edible fireworks using bread sticks and sprinkles!
Great Britain
We celebrated the best of British this week! We learnt all about the Queen and some London Landmarks. The children had an afternoon tea party (inviting Year Ones) with cucumber sandwiches and a cream tea with scones, jam and cream. They joined in with a circle dance and finished the weeks learning with some great British chip shop chips!! A great time had by all.
