This week the children had lots of fun with maths .... We recognised and ordered numbers... We counted out amounts..... We even took maths into our PE lesson by counting our jumps...
This week has been one full of stories and imaginative play. The children enjoyed "Pumpkin Soup" written by Helen Cooper. They have been mixing potions in the Potion Lab and inventing their own magic potions. To develop fine motor skills the children have enjoyed hammering in golf tees into pumpkins and squash. The mud kitchen has been in full use despite all the rain this week! All the children sang their harvest songs confidently at their first family celebration!
The children have settled into school life very well. They are getting used to choosing their own learning during our let's explore sessions. This week the favourites have been building outside using the wooden blocks, tool boxes and wheel barrows, and lots of letter and card writing. Everyone has been enjoying our snack table too.
The children this week have been learning about the story of the Little Red Hen. They have been using the props to retell the story. The outside role play area has been turned into a farm shop and the children have been practising their counting skills.
